Common questions
Is the Ezidri BPA-free and food-safe?
Yes. All Ezidri trays, mesh sheets, and solid sheets are BPA-free, food-safe plastics — ABS trays and polypropylene sheets, tested to EU food-contact standards. The units are CE marked and tested to EN/IEC 60335-2-9 international safety standards.
What's the difference between the FD500 and FD1000?
The FD500 is 500W, expands to 15 trays, and has a 24-hour timer. The FD1000 is 1000W, expands to 30 trays, has a 48-hour timer, and includes an anti-rehydration function. FD1000 suits bigger batches. FD500 suits everyday snacks and smaller households.
What can I dehydrate?
Fruit, vegetables, herbs, meat (jerky, biltong), fish, meals, yoghurt, fruit leather, pet treats, and more. A full drying guide is included with every purchase.
How much does it cost to run?
The FD1000 uses about 0.5 kWh per hour and the FD500 about 0.25 kWh per hour. A 10-hour session uses roughly 5 kWh (FD1000) or 2.5 kWh (FD500) — apply your own electricity tariff to work out the cost.
